Patricia Oetter, MA, OTR/L, FAOTA
6 Contact Hours

How about a day spent on watching a variety of video clips of treatment sessions and discussing the clinical reasoning connected to the strategies being used?  This course is designed for OT’s and PT’s with a broad knowledge base in pediatrics.  Strategies used will target issues related to modulation and sensory defensiveness, oral & respiratory function, postural support, movement disorders, upper extremity development, play & interaction skills.

Clinical reasoning will incorporate multiple frames of reference; Sensory Integration, Sensory Defensiveness (Wilbarger), cranialsacral therapy, neurodevelopmental treatment, MORE model, Therapeutic Listening, Astronaut training/Mary Kawar.

Objectives: participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the reasoning for the primary focus of Tx in each case scenario
2. Discuss the reasoning behind the sequence of Tx in each case scenario
