How to bring a PDP course to your facility

Professional Development Programs is your Partner in Lifelong Learning and has developed a number of outreach options to help meet your continuing education needs. Our sponsorship and hosting opportunities make it easier to bring exactly the courses you want to your area.

1. Course Sponsor:
This option gives you complete control over the course of your choosing. You are in charge of who attends, registration, promotions, and more.

Professional Development Programs will:
• Handle all speaker arrangements and costs, including honoraria, travel, lodging, and expenses.
• Provide the content information for promotional materials.
• Supply electronic print-ready files of handout materials.
Additional Services you may select are:
• AOTA and ASHA CEUs.
• On-site PDP Staff assistance.
• PDP Products for display and sale.

You provide:
• Local transportation and meals for the speakers.
• Meeting space.
• Audio/visual equipment i.e. screen, sound system, DVD, overhead projector.
• Pre-registration for the course.
• Copy and distribute any handouts or lab materials.
• Course evaluations and Certificate of Completion, CEU Accreditation.
• Any other onsite arrangements that might occur.

Since costs vary from one workshop to another, please submit a sponsor request form or contact our Outreach Director, Cindy, at 877-439-8865 for further details.

2. Course Host:
Hosting gives you control over the location and is cost-effective for agencies that need to provide training for multiple professionals. You will also earn one free registration for every 15 people who sign up for the course.

Professional Development Programs will:
• Provide speakers and cover all of their fees and related expenses.
• Conduct all promotion of the course.
• Develop, print and mail course brochures.
• Handle pre-registration and send confirmation packets.
• Supply handouts and lab materials.
• Administer Course Evaluation and issue Certificate of Completion to participants.
• Provide AOTA and ASHA CEUs when appropriate.

You provide:
• Meeting space with available parking.
• Audio/visual equipment i.e. screen, sound system, DVD, overhead projector.
• Assistance with food and refreshment arrangements.
• On-site assistance for set-up, registration and course administration.
• A list of lodging and eating establishments convenient to the course site.

3. Local Assistant:
On occasion PDP simply needs another person to help run a course. For the benefit of a complimentary course registration you will:
• Assist PDP in selecting course dates and finding a course site i.e. hotel, school, hospital, etc.
• Help with promoting the course, “spreading the word.”
• Assist the on-site PDP staff with registration, set-up and take-down as needed.
Only one site assistant per course.

4. Speakers Bureau:
Our speakers, all known nationally and internationally, are also available to present private in-services to your staff, in small group or state-wide conference settings. PDP provides you with not only the speaker, but will handle all travel arrangements, contracts and honoraria. We will work with you to develop a cost-effective program, tailored specifically to your situation to present continuing education that will excite, update and invigorate your staff.

You will:
• Provide local transportation, meals, etc. for the speakers.

Please note: Advertised PDP courses are not available for individual in-services or agencies through the Speakers Bureau. For this option please refer to the Sponsor or Host options. PDP can arrange for speakers to offer courses and lectures on a wide variety of topics.

For more detailed information on any of these options, please click on the option name to download an information request form.
