Integrating
Kinesiological and Functional Models in Upright:
Challenges for the Child Vickie
Meade, PT, DSc, MPH, PCS
12 Contact Hours
Welcome
back to continue learning and applying the principles
of kinesiology and balanced muscle work to children's
functional activities in upright positions. This course
builds on The Case Detective, illustrating typical and
atypical development in upright while emphasizing the
'must have' and 'nasty' muscles of the hip, knee and
ankle. Participation in the Partners in Movement:
The Case Detective is strongly encouraged but not required. Methods
of evaluation are used to explore evidence based models
which actively engage parents in goal setting and decision
making. Lectures and video case studies will allow participants
to actively select treatment objectives and integrate
strategies across multiple environments.
This
course is offered for 1.2 ASHA CEUs, Intermediate Level,
