Kinesio Taping 3 - Clinical Concepts and Advanced Taping Methods

This course is offered for .8 ASHA CEUs (Advanced Level, Related Area)
8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This one-day course combines KT1 and KT2 coursework, while teaching some of the more advanced techniques of the Kinesio Taping Method which can be put to immediate use in clinical practice. The instructor will tailor the workshop for specific conditions, professions and applications based upon participants’ needs. The workshop will address the treatment of all populations, with additional emphasis placed on the pediatric population during the afternoon portion. Hands-on lab sessions will allow participants to practice supervised Kinesio Taping Methods on one another. Upon completion, attendees will be eligible to take the Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner exam.
Participants MUST have completed KT1 and KT2 prior to attending, as this course will build on information and techniques presented in the earlier courses. Participants are encouraged to review their previous course handouts, manuals and notes prior to attending this workshop. Bring your own scissors and wear proper attire for taping (tank top and shorts)

Objectives: Participants will be able to:
1. Describe the basic principles of kinesiotaping and the corrective techniques.
2. Demonstrate how to facilitate or inhibit specific muscles for muscle imbalance at the shoulder girdle and pelvis.
3. Develop an expanded repertoire of taping for specific conditions.
4. Identify and select appropriate taping strategies for specific conditions.
